Another year in San Jose has come to a close and the seventh installment of our association camp proved to be the best yet.
The Caio Terra Association is not just a team of incredibly talented Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu players. The men and women behind that technique are some of the most friendly, selfless, inviting and inspiring people that have ever entered my life.
Every year is a chance to reconnect with old friends, from California to Colorado and from Brooklyn to Bulgaria. Regardless of where we come from, we all have so much in common and share a passion for changing lives with Professor Caio’s Jiu-Jitsu.
We discuss our struggles and turn them into our success stories. We share stories and laughter. We drill, train and sharpen our swords in the same flame. In short, we invest in EACH OTHER.
It never gets easier to write this post-camp blog and say goodbye to everyone, but the smile on my face gets bigger each year. We grow closer to each other and to our goals in such a short time, that I’m reminded how fortunate to have these men and women in my life.
To Professor Caio…thank you for your continued efforts to bring out the best in all of us. Even though you were struggling and sick all week, you made time for our questions between the coughs. It’s inspiring to see how important and valued we ALL are, regardless of which corner of the globe we come from. Obrigado.
To Nick…neither words typed nor said can express my gratitude. I think a simple “look of approval, half smile and nod” is our version of “thank you/you’re welcome” maybe lol. You’ve changed my life for the better because of your guidance and caring, and we’ve only just begun. With the right plan and a lot of grind, I now feel like I can accomplish anything and you’re the reason why.
To CTA WORLDWIDE…love and miss all you guys already! I was able make so many new friends this year that I know will last a lifetime. Thanks to the HQ Crew for the hospitality this week and always. I truly love catching up with everyone and bridging the gap between team and family…y’all are the best! See you guys in 2021!
