After years of requests, we hosted our first CT Kids Summer Camp…and are so glad we finally did! Professor Collin planned out incredible games and activities for each day, focusing on a different martial art and skill set for each day.
Included in the Wrestling, Judo & Jiu-Jitsu basics that were taught, we also included a history of grappling “Storytime” that all the kids really enjoyed. We discussed the roots of wrestling, the history of grappling and the samurai warriors, and the migration of Judo to Brazil and the birth of what we now call Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!
In addition to learning skills on the mat, we had games to develop both competition and teamwork throughout the week as well. No Summer Camp would be complete without a water balloon fight, some pizza, watching Kung Fu Panda, and even hot dogs, so we rocked them all! All the kids were given awards on Friday to commemorate and amazing week of leveling up together!
