One of the most exciting times of the year for a CTA affiliate is the opportunity to connect with our Professor and our teammates from all over the world at CTA Headquarters in San Jose, California! Since 2014, this week-long event has resulted in some of the best training and friends imaginable.
This year, we spent several classes training directly with Professor Caio early in the week, covering some of the different Lesson Plans from his Fundamental Curriculum. We covered the Cross Choke from Mount, Sleeve Drag from Half Guard, Collar/Sleeve Guard, and also some different Guard Recovery strategies. By Wednesday evening we had reached our Promotion ceremony, where our affiliate from China – Vinz Wong – was promoted to Black Belt! He has an infectious passion for Jiu-Jitsu and it’s easily visible in the precision of his technique.
