In the past few weeks, the CTA Irving students have proudly represented our team in tournaments across the metroplex! Rico, Cornell, Christi and Peyton all performed absolutely amazing.
At the Jiu-Jitsu World League event in Frisco, Cornell went undefeated, won his division, and secured the gold medal. Rico had two hard fought battles to take the bronze, and Peyton picked up his first win in competition in only his first tournament.
Most recently, Rico bounced back into action – this time along with Christi at the Dallas open. Both prepared intensely for this tournament and went in extremely focused and fired up. After picking up easy gold medals in their weight class, they both immediately signed up for the open division. This gave them the chance to test themselves and their skill against opponents of any weight class, and they stepped up to the challenge brilliantly, Rico winning silver and Christi winning bronze.
