The past two weeks have been filled with excitement, as many of our students tested their skills in the IBJJF Dallas Open and Jiu-Jitsu World League Dallas XI Tournaments! Any time that our students compete, it is a lengthy process of preparation, focus and chasing down many other goals in the process of achieving a greater one.
Christi got us started at the Dallas Open, where she had an incredible match on her way to taking Silver. She was able to implement a lot of what we’d worked on prior to the tournament and took a whole lot of grit into this one. A crucial mistake may have cost her the Gold, but she’s already back on the mat with her sights set on April!
The next weekend, it was time for Rocco, Eva, Markus, Ashton, and Albert to step up and show out at the Comerica Center in Frisco! Each of them brought home medals for their efforts, with Albert leading the charge with a Gold Medal in his first event! Rocco, Eva & Ashton each had two matches in their divisions, all bringing home Silver Medals themselves. They have grown a lot since their previous outings and it showed with awesome efforts from all of them. Markus had a LONG day of stellar technique, having four matches and winning three of them on his way to Bronze. He was patient and calculated in his efforts and exhibited a lot of what he’d been recently working on – a sign of true growth!
Thank you to all of our athletes for their hard work and dedication to their craft – it’s an honor to have you represent our team and family! OSS!!
