On November 9, we had seven of our adult students competing at the Jiu-Jitsu World League Tournament and they did fantastic! Among the seven, they collected 5 silver medals and 4 bronze…plenty to be proud of, but still a lot of hunger for gold next time!
For Andrew Szemborski, Chris Vaughan and Paul Balensiefen, it was their first tournament and they all did extremely well. So proud to have these guys represent us in such amazing fashion. Congrats on your medals and victories, gentlemen!
Rico Payne, Stephen Makowski, Nujan Shrestha and Robert Lombardo all were anxious to jump back into competition again. Three of them competed in both gi and no-gi, making for a long and exhausting day, but they powered through! Although these men tasted defeat and gold medals eluded them, they all ended the day with a smile and a desire to get right back in the gym and get to work.
Thank you to our amazing students for the support…both in the academy for the weeks leading up to the tournament and also at the event itself – cheering, coaching, encouraging, laughing and making memories.
One Team. One Family.
