Our work from Closed Guard continues this week by featuring two incredible Shoulder Lock submissions – the Omoplata and Kimura. Both of these are similar in nature as far as how your opponent’s arm is positioned, but the setups and details surrounding them couldn’t be more different. Monday and Tuesday will be focused on securing the Modified Overhook and Omoplata:

On Wednesday, we’ll discuss the Kimura from Closed Guard in addition to how combine it with a Sweep attempt if our opponent defends. A large part of this lesson focuses on posture within Closed Guard – how to hold it and how to break it!
