We’ve spent the last couple of weeks working from the bottom of Closed Guard, so we’ll flip the script this week and work on posturing, opening and passing! We’ll learn two different methods to opening the Closed Guard – both off of our knees and from the standing position – as our opponents’ skill level increases, so will the need to stand up!

To close the week, Professor Collin will discuss how to deal with a standing opponent! The Catucada Sweep is incredibly useful, as there are multiple attacks available to complete this sequence. We’ll be covering sweeps, back-takes and even Triangle Chokes!

More hard work will be happening in our CT Kids, No-Gi and Comp Class too – we’ve got lots on the way at CTA Irving!
