We will be closing out the month of August by learning how to stand up and open the Closed Guard and also what to do when your opponent does! So much of Jiu-Jitsu is built around learning how your opponent is going to react and then being prepared to act upon their movements, and we’ll cover all that this next week.
On Monday and Tuesday, we will cover correctly posturing while in your opponent’s Closed Guard. From there, we’ll cover establishing grips and opening the guard before preparing to pass.
On Wednesday, we will talk about the Catucada and Double Ankle Sweep. Depending on the grip variations, we have multiple sweeping options – and even some backtakes and submissions!
