As the snow subsides, the temperatures rise, and the ice melts, our focus this week will be both the Offensive and Defensive Sides of Lapel Chokes from the Back Mount! We’ll begin on offense with the Cross Collar and Bow and Arrow Chokes. Depending on how our opponent is escaping, we’ll have different strategies to chase the submission:

From there, we’ll begin to deconstruct and dismantle these attacks! Often times, it is easier to understand how to defend and escape a submission after learning how it works, when it is available, etc. On Wednesday, we will start to cover the usage of frames and hip adjustments to survive and even get out of some really tight spots!
