In our classes, we often discuss the principles of securing an offensive position then securely advancing towards an opportunity to submit our opponent. One of those positions is this week’s focus – the Mount!
We’re starting out by learning the Cross Choke, which is one of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s most classic submission techniques. After covering the submission, Professor Collin will move on to defending and escaping, while addressing some self defense aspects along the way.
Utilizing the principles of control from our first lesson, we will move on to learning how to perform an Armlock. Often times, the Armlock can be used in combination with the Cross Choke to make for a strong attack series.
With this weekend’s promotions, we will have lots of new belt colors on the mat, so be sure and congratulate your teammates!
