Open Guard week! For the next few days we will be working on both the Lasso and Spider Guards. Both of these methods are extremely effective ways to play Open Guard, but setting up these positions can be difficult. We’ll be covering correct grips and angles to make all of the techniques flow way easier, so no worries there!

From Lasso Guard, we’ll be moving to Spider Guard on Wednesday. By using our foot in the bend of our opponent’s elbow, we can create incredible leverage to off balance and even sweep them. From there, the sweeps set up submission opportunities!
