We’ve got an exciting week of techniques and Lesson Plans from Half Guard before we finish things off in Frisco at the Jiu-Jitsu World League Tournament! After working on the Hip Switch and Knee Cut, it’s time to shift gears and address the bottom position of Half Guard. The most obvious positional improvement is simply recovering Guard – our focus of Monday and Tuesday!
Beginning Wednesday, we’ll work to get to the best position there is – the Back Mount! We’ll first secure an underhook with our knee shield before posturing to our knees. Plan A will be to get our hooks and seatbelt grip, but we also have the option of sweeping our opponent if they defend!
No-Gi and Advanced Classes will also be full of Half Guard goodness, so get to class to see it all!
