Both attacks and escapes will be on our Fundamental Menu this week! We finalize our Lessons Plans from the Mount – where we’ll focus on recovering to Guard, then move on to techniques from there.
Monday we’ll focus on utilizing proper frames and getting our hips mobile while underneath our opponent. This is going to be critical in order to trap their leg and begin improving our position. We’ll finish this lesson with a sneaky counter attack from the top as well!
Mid-week we shift our focus to the Open Guard position, in particular to discuss the Straight Ankle Lock! This is a technique that has TONS of details on both the offensive and defensive side of it, so make sure you’re in class to see them all!
We’ll be bringing the usual heat to our No-Gi classes Tues/Thurs at 6pm and exploring even more Advanced Guard options on Wednesday night at 7:30. This week is a big one – see you all soon!
