SUBMISSION IS OUR MISSION THIS WEEK! This week gives our students the opportunity to learn the finer points of controlling and submitting our opponent from the Side Control and Knee on Belly positions. We’ll begin the week from Side Control, where we will be discuss controlling our opponent’s hips before moving to the Kimura or Armlock as finishing options:
From here, we’ll move on to the Knee on Belly position! We’ll introduce how to establish and maintain control of our opponent, then discuss transitioning if and when they try to escape. Our main goal here is to use the Knee on Belly as an efficient way to get to the Mount, but there’s also an opportunity for an Armlock as well:
