We’ll be Hip-Switching from Half Guard to start our week and close out September! When we are able to secure chest connection from Half Guard, it is common for our opponent to try and escape their hips in an attempt to recover Guard. To counter this movement, we’ll redirect our pressure and make our legs easier to escape from this new “Hip Switch” position.

If our passing attempts lead us into the Side Control position, then our opponent’s frames may be causing us our next problem. By sitting through to the Kazure Kesagatame Gatame position. This allows us to prevent Guard recovery attempts, provide lots of pressure, and even attack a Submission!
