Back to work on Labor Day – it just makes sense! After an Open Mat on Monday, we’ll be covering a little more from the Mount, both on offense and defense. Offensively, we will discuss details of the Keylock in Tuesday’s Fundamentals class. We’ll include details on isolating our opponent’s arm and even countering their defense with an armlock!

From there, we will move to underneath the Mount position and cover what is arguably the most valuable technique in all of Jiu-Jitsu and Self Defense – the Upa. Using strong hip movement and proper head positioning make this an easy and effective way to escape from the bottom.
