This week we get into two new ways to escape from the back mount position – by framing our opponent’s arm and then we’ll complete the lesson by escaping if we find ourselves in a collar choke. Members of Professor Caio’s online training can find the links here.
It’s important to work on defending our opponent’s grips and protecting the space around our neck as a first priority. Once we are able to defend the choke attempts, we must use the connection of our shoulder to turn back into guard.
Our CTA Outdoor Workouts at Campion Trail continue to be a huge hit, so keep up the hard work! It’s awesome to see everyone and their families back together again – even if we’re 6 feet apart. We’re also scheduled to be able to return to action at the gym on May 18th, so more details about that are on the way as well!
