Competition days are about more than medals—they’re about the dedication, growth, and commitment that happen long before stepping onto the mats.
CTA Irving came together as One Team and One Family at the Jiu-Jitsu World League tournament recently, celebrating both the hard work behind the scenes and the performances when it was time to compete.
For Selene, the day was a reminder that the process matters. Although she didn’t have a match this tournament, she put in countless hours of preparation over the previous weeks to be ready. Showing up, putting in the work, and supporting the team are all part of what makes a competitor—and a teammate—successful.

Our adult competitors also had an incredible day on the mats. Arif displayed outstanding technique, composure, and strategy throughout his matches, earning a well-deserved Silver medal. Rodrigo continued to showcase his skill and determination, finishing with two submission victories to claim Gold.
It was an honor to be in their corners and witness the growth, effort, and confidence they brought to competition.
At CTA Irving, we believe that every tournament is an opportunity to learn, improve, and represent our academy with pride. Whether it’s a first competition, a hard-fought match, or a championship performance, we show up together—and when it’s time to shine, we do it brightly.
