As the year comes to an end, we sent an incredible group into competition in Frisco earlier this month!  After weeks of preparation and hard work, CTA Irving had 13 different athletes competing in both Gi and No-Gi divisions.  It’s so awesome to see our team working together in practice and then supporting each other in competition seamlessly.  Hearing the cheers from the stands from friends and family was truly inspiring for everyone on the floor of the Comerica Center!

Last weekend, we had a handful of dedicated students compete in the Jiu-Jitsu World League Tournament held in Frisco and they all did incredible! Biggest congrats to Ricky Pyburn and David Lademan, who stepped out into competition for the first time, making huge personal gains along the way in preparation.

Our group of veterans all gained some awesome experience along the way.  Rico, Christi, Aaron & Kyle were all able to identify moments of success and areas of improvement in each match, making us better at day’s end.  This group has already inspired tons of teammates to get ready for the next tournament on November 18th!

We had a world of fun in Frisco a couple of weeks ago!  Several of our adult students took to the mats in Frisco for the Jiu-Jitsu World League USA III Tournament.  After the event, I sent the text at the bottom to our competitors, but it applies to everyone on our team. I was recently blessed with witnessing the growth of the team on a global scale each year at CTA Camp in San Jose, CA and the “why” is simple…trust.

“Thank you guys for trusting me. We play a truly different and difficult style of Jiu-Jitsu with CTA and I can’t thank you guys enough for believing in what we do and how we do it.  As long as we’ve got that, our future can’t help but be bright. One Team, One Family, All Love and No Limits!”
On to the next one – preparation for July 8th has already started!
