LOTS OF CLASSES AND LOTS OF PASSES! We’ll continue to explore techniques from the Half Guard position by addressing how to perform our Tripod and Knee Slide passes. With the Half Guard being so dynamic and presenting so many options and threats, we’ll spend Monday and Tuesday dissecting the Shin Shield as well. Once we clear it, we’ll utilize the Tripod position to pass a handful of different ways:

If our opponent starts to escape their hips in an attempt to recover Closed Guard, we have to change our strategy. By switching our hips and blocking their recovery attempts, we can open up pass opportunities to Quarter Mount:

Professor Collin will be teaching more Half Guard passes and attacks in our No-Gi classes as well, so don’t miss out!

From April 13-17, Professor Collin was able to attend the 6th annual CTA Association Camp in San Jose, CA! This year’s camp began with several impressive performances at the San Jose Open, where our team was able to win 1st place in both the Gi and No-Gi Divisions! Way to go everyone!
