This year’s Teamsgiving party was truly one for the books! There’s something special about gathering with teammates outside of training, where the vibe shifts from drills and sparring to laughs, games, and pure fun.
We kicked things off with plenty of food and we couldn’t have picked a better location than JC’s Burger Bar in Coppell. Our very own Taylor Kuhia manages JC’s and surprised us all with some delicious Kalua Pork and Rice to sample and share. By the end of the night, there were a lot of empty plates and happy faces, which is always a win.
Our first highlight, though, had to be our WILD Elephant gift exchange. If you’ve never played, it’s part strategy, part chaos, and all fun. Gifts ranged from unique and creative to outright hilarious (Nick’s autographed photo looks great at the gym). People were plotting trades, swiping gifts, and trying to hold their poker faces as the “good” ones got snatched back and forth.
After the exchange, we dove into a game that had everyone rolling and attracted the attention of everyone around us. We tested our balance, strength, and flexibility as we took turns trying to pick up a paper sack with our teeth, and the competition was just as fierce as it is on the mats! Congrats to Antonio, Miguel, Ale & Manny on the FOUR-WAY tie to Win!
By the end of the night, the energy was high, and the camaraderie felt even stronger. It’s always great to remember that while we train hard together, we also celebrate each other just as hard. Already looking forward to next year’s goals, accomplishments, and of course TEAMSGIVING 2025!
