Hello everyone! As we get rolling into the second week of working from home, I wanted to share some more of our Lesson Plans with you guys. I’ll continue providing resources to you guys as often as I’m able to share them!
This week we are working on the Catucada Sweeps Lesson Plan. This is great series that addresses our opponent standing up while in our Closed Guard. Depending on the grips that we have available, we have several different variations to use to sweep and get to Mount.
Several years ago, Professor Caio was teaching a seminar and was asked a question about this sweep. As he was covering the details in his answer, the biggest one that stuck out to me was the specific TIMING of the sweep. It’s not just done when your opponent STANDS, but when they POSTURE!
Our CT Kids Classes should stick with the Catucada Sweep and Double Ankle Sweep from Closed Guard. Send in your pictures of the kids working from home – I’d love to see your smiling faces. Keep working on your Scarecrow drills too…a great way to get the whole family involved!
Adult Fundamental Classes will cover all of the videos and I’m also hoping to share some other Catucada options as well with you. There are a couple of additional paths (Catucada to Triangle Choke and Catucada to the Back) that make up the Advanced Lesson for this week, so keep an eye out this week.
There are SO many ways that we can improve in the interim…strength, flexibility, cardio, stamina, etc. Keep utilizing the resources provided and we’ll all be fine. ALL of us are stuck at home, so it’s just a matter of what we’re doing with that time! Also, Tiger King on Netflix and COD: Warzone are pretty cool lol.
